Non au D-Day Land : une pétition en ligne

Comme vous le savez, nous avons lancé une pétition en ligne en milieu de semaine dernière; elle a déjà recueilli 500 signatures ! J’invite ceux d’entre vous qui ne  l’ont pas signée à le faire et à diffuser ce lien :

Nous avons envoyé cette semaine des courriers aux ambassadeurs des principaux pays alliés qui ont pris part à la bataille de Normandie, ainsi qu’à l'UNESCO. Nous n’attendons pas de réponse très substantielle, mais il nous a semblé important de leur faire connaître notre opposition au D-day land.

Et j’attire aussi votre attention sur le film documentaire Colette qui vient d’être primé aux Oscars. Avec beaucoup de simplicité et avec une force bouleversante, ce film de la productrice française Alice Doyard et du réalisateur américain Anthony Giacchino est consacré au voyage qu’une dame, ancienne Résistante, fait en Allemagne avec une jeune étudiante en histoire, sur les lieux où le frère de cette dame est mort en déportation. Pas un mot de trop pour dire la douleur, aucune complaisance, et c'est inoubliable. Preuve, si besoin, qu’il n’est pas nécessaire de construire des parcs mémoriels avec tribune mobile sur 35 hectares. Preuve, si besoin, que la sobriété est plus forte que le grand spectacle pour sensibiliser et éveiller les consciences.

Good evening everyone

As you know, we launched an online petition mid-last week; it has already collected 500 signatures! I invite those of you who haven't signed it to do so and to post this link:

We sent letters this week to the ambassadors of the main Allied countries that took part in the Battle of Normandy, as well as to UNESCO. We are not expecting a very substantial response, but we felt it was important to let them know about our opposition to D-day land.

 Just a word  about the Oscar-winning documentary Colette. With great simplicity and with overwhelming force, this film by French producer Alice Doyard and American director Anthony Giacchino is devoted to the trip that a lady, a former Resistance member, made in Germany with a young history student, to the places where the brother of this lady died in deportation. Not a word too much to express the pain, no complacency, and it is unforgettable. Proof that it is not necessary to build memorial parks with mobile platforms on 35 hectares. Proof, if necessary, that sobriety is stronger than the big show in raising  awareness.
